Being far off in the bush, autonomy in infrastructure is essential. Electricity at Tembo Kijani is produced by solar and wind, which is available year round.
Each guest unit has its own small solar island system consisting of a solar panel, solar controller, battery and inverter. Our guests will be able to see the
amount of electricity produced and the amount of electricity used since their arrival by using the controller.
The main grid at Tembo Kijani is supplied with electricity from more than 2KW of solar panels and two wind turbines producing together up to peak of 3KW. The battery pool will ensure a
back-up of electricity for an entire day.
Energy-saving light bulbs, solar water heating systems and of course the awareness of the staff and guests on how to save electricity is as important as using renewable energy.
